ESP32 Cool control

$50.00

An ESP32 vent actuator that can control your home ducted air conditioning vents.

Description

A smart HVAC/Ducted vent that uses the power of the esp32 to provide both a web page and API endpoint that allows a user to directly control a vent or a smart home management system like Home Assistant to adjust vent flow percentages.

Directions for use.

  1. Drill out the duct so that the rod from the duct can move freely through it.
  2. Lubricate the rod with some lithium grease
  3. Thread the actuator onto the end of the rod about 5 turns.
  4. Provide a usb power source
  5. Locate the devices web portal – you can do this by looking for the access point in your list of WiFi access points.
  6. Once connected, input the wifi details of your home WiFi router
  7. The Device will connect to that access point
  8. Connect to your home network WiFi
  9. Find the IP address of the device from your router.
  10. Navigate to http://[your esp32 device ip address]
  11. You should see a slider, you can slide the slider and see the actuator move.
  12. Slide the slider complely to the right, this is the closed position. Turn the vent to its closed position, so that when the slider is all the way to the right, the vent is completely closed.
  13. Slide the slider to the left, check the vent opens, then slide it to the right, the vent should be closed (there may still be a small gap, this is acceptable)

Your all set!

The device can also be controlled by sending JSON data to it to the update endpoint with the following payload:
